Perth Angels Pitch Night #52

On the 15th of November, we hosted the 52nd edition of Perth Angels Pitch Night at Carbon Group, spotlighting the latest in health tech innovation. The lineup featured four presentations from amazing startups, offering a snapshot of where the industry is heading.

Peak Medical is a Sustainable Digital Therapeutic Model for Osteoarthritis and Perioperative care. Focusing on behavioral change, patient satisfaction, and reducing the length of stay, pain, fear, and anxiety as well as reducing travel burden and cost of traditional care. Providing service in patient’s homes via their Ai software. TGA regulated, BIBO, their flagship product is available through Hospital. Hayley Saddington is the Founder and presented directly from Sydney.

Matilda, presented by Joanna Morris, Co-founder & COO and Kevin Wernli is changing the way we manage chronic diseases with endometriosis care being their first target. They offer people the ability to learn about endometriosis, connect with a community of others and access specialised clinicians.

Their business model is primarily SaaS (“gym membership for your chronic disease”) with one off payments for group courses. They are a D2C and B2B (voucher system for businesses who support people with endometriosis).

Ticking Heart was presented by Kevin Fynn in person and pitches that “Cardio-vascular disease (CVD) accounts for 30% of deaths and 10% of hospitalisations but 80% of premature CVD is preventable and early detection would save lives reducing the burden of the disease. We offer an AI-based wearable vest for early diagnosis of CVD with market segments including consumer self-monitoring, medical clinics, ambulances and GP rooms.”

We also heard from Nikhilesh Bappoo, Nicholas Buckleyand Katherine Arenson, representing Veintech, a company that is already part of Perth Angels portfolio. Veintech is a medical device company aiming to improve patient and physician experience in vascular access practices.

Beyond the pitches, the event provided ample networking opportunities. Attendees had the chance to connect, share insights, and explore potential collaborations in the ever-evolving innovation landscape.
